SitaDropsJewelry

Sita Sings the Blues plays for one week at New York’s IFC Film Center, Dec. 25-31. This is a real theatrical run, with 7 or 8 screenings a day. I’ll be doing Q & A’s at the 8:25 pm shows most (possibly all) nights. Tickets online!

The schedule so far (click on the time to purchase tickets):

IFC Film Center has beautiful screens and is located at 323 Sixth Avenue at West Third Street (map) in the West Village, right at the W. 4th St. Station (A, C, E, B, D, F, & V subway lines). Please tell all your NY friends and help us get butts in seats!

  1. Yay! Those of you who haven’t been lucky enough to see “Sita” on the big screen should beg, borrow or steal to take advantage of this opportunity.

  3. Hi NINA!!!!

My Wife, Our baby (seven months) and I, we are all crazy about your SITA SINGS THE BLUES; it’s great; we watch it every day (and the baby before lunch)!!!

It has an incredible secondary effect on the baby he eats all his lunch…….the first effect is happiness….

I really wish I could meet you in person one day just to hug you….this is the effect your work made to me….

I would also like to ask you if I can upload your movie on my channel on youtube and my webpage

Best Of wishes and a happy new Year From Athens

  4. Hi Nina,

Just saw your movie in YouTube. Its simply amazing, love just about everything in it,right from the music, animation to the narrators, the medieval castles popping in between and the Mughal style of characters and architectures and loads more ;-)LOL.
Hats off to your creative genius!!!
The best thing I liked about it was that you took a feminist version of the Ramayana.Kudos to you.

  5. Hi Nina: Great news on the showing. Now, after 20 years of work you can be an overnight sensation. I told you that algebra we worked on years ago would pay off.
Best of luck and I have some great stuff I would like you to look at and advise me.

  6. I saw it last night, on the recommendation of my yoga teacher who said I should see it and in the theater. He was right! Beautiful, magical layering. It made me want to sign up for one of your classes!
