A funny walk cycle from 2004

You know the exploding head on the right of the header for this blog? That’s from a project I abandoned in 2004. I’ve been looking for the files for a few years, and finally found them on an old hard drive. Here’s a new animated GIF from a delightful (if I may say so myself) walk cycle I made back then.

I plan to find a use for this in another project, somehow.

  1. I like how the character changes gender as it walks.

Great animation. I hope you do find a way to use in a story (or maybe with an interesting narrative and the right music, that *is* the whole story).

  2. This could use a fun musical soundtrack, like a slightly sped up Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five jazz number.

Oh, who am I kidding. These successful emerging animator types never listen to their fans.

  3. Its Eve as she happily and proudly strides from the Garden into a bright and infinitely more engaging future!

    Love it!

  4. It definitely has a Fleischer Studio feel, so Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five would fit.

What I like best are the shadows. Quite fun to watch.

  5. Looks like something from one of the Fleisher cartoons of the early 30’s, when the hero/heroine would walk down the street happy, and everything in the universe would dance along with ’em.
