I would call it social justice mobbing. The excuse is the nebulous neoliberal notion of “social justice”, and the practice has all the elements of traditional mobbing, beginning with the declarations that freethinkers are less than human and therefore may be treated in ways they would never allow members of their own community to be treated.
Yeah, Lord of the Flies! I guess if you see yourself as a “victim”, then ANYTHING you do to “fight the Power” can be viewed as morally correct.
