See, this is why I leave myself open to comments, even though they can cause discomfort. Sasha Rubel made an excellent suggestion. On areas that were already brown, I used gold outlines.

This one pops. I wasn’t sure about the green coloring on earlier versions. (But as I may’ve mentioned, I really don’t remember anything about the mythology of Ziz — this creatures is all new to me).
You probably know this or was address already but I feel the legs on the back are lagging behind and not syncing with the front. The secondary animation is fine but obviously will need tweaking one this is fixed.
The best one IMHO. Best colours, best outlines.
The initial ones in color (with all the dithering) didn’t quite catch with me, but the flat colors with the brown lines work here. I’m really digging this one!
