I just felt like making this font, so I did. I have no particular use for it. I guess making the hieroglyphs activated the font part of my brain, or something. It’s not a real font (I no longer have Fontographer software), just letter designs. If anyone wants to make a real, functional font out of this, lemme know and I’ll send you .ai or .eps files.
I can try it…
I know there are at least one or two FOSS fontography programs out there. There is FontForge, which works, even if the UI is a bit archaic. I’ve also heard that Inkscape (which uses .svg) has some font-making features, which can generate fonts when used with a converter of some kind.
If anyone wants to play with font building, you don’t need to have Fontographer. You can use Free/Libre Open Source: http://fontforge.org/
Oh David beat me to commenting by a few minutes. I was very slow to refresh the page.
Inkscape is excellent but I’m not aware of easy font-export capacity, although seems reasonable in principle.
ale dlaczego fonty a nie fonts?
…abecadlo z pieca spadlo….
=v= I used to make fonts when I was a kid, using charred sticks of wood and the backs of menus. Maybe my Mom has them stored around here somewhere …
