You know the exploding head on the right of the header for this blog? That’s from a project I abandoned in 2004. I’ve been looking for the files for a few years, and finally found them on an old hard drive. Here’s a new animated GIF from a delightful (if I may say so myself) walk cycle I made back then.
That’s really cool, and kinda psychedelic and mesmerizing….
I like how the character changes gender as it walks.
Great animation. I hope you do find a way to use in a story (or maybe with an interesting narrative and the right music, that *is* the whole story).
John Cleese and the Ministry would approve, and perhaps offer a government grant.
This could use a fun musical soundtrack, like a slightly sped up Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five jazz number.
Oh, who am I kidding. These successful emerging animator types never listen to their fans.
Its Eve as she happily and proudly strides from the Garden into a bright and infinitely more engaging future!
Love it!
I like how even the sun has squash and stretch.
I’ve been looking at this animation for far too long…
I like how the feet flop so far forward, and how everything bounces along…
It definitely has a Fleischer Studio feel, so Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five would fit.
What I like best are the shadows. Quite fun to watch.
Looks like something from one of the Fleisher cartoons of the early 30’s, when the hero/heroine would walk down the street happy, and everything in the universe would dance along with ’em.
Thanks for pointing out the exploding head. I never noticed it before.
Keep on Truckin’!
to me it suggests the giant steps of women on earth… an enthusiastic walk/dance with the universe… and it might get even more interesting with some kind of version of coltrane’s giant steps, like this one (justa an example of a suggestion…:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57NAW5nMKKY&feature=related)
and thanks, Nina, for the work and the blog.
I just watched this while playing “Struttin’ With Some Barbecue” — very cool!
I’m using this as a Happy Solstice web greeting. Very cheery! 🙂
Wow!!!! I love it!! So delightfully bouncy!!
Props to R. Crumb! Keep on truckin’!!!
